Laurence "Larry" Glasser is the Director of Risk Management for Amerijet Holdings, Inc. and its family of international cargo-handling companies, which include the many subsidiaries of Amerijet International Airlines, a global air cargo carrier. Larry joined Amerijet in 2002 as its first full time Risk Manager. Larry's intended occupation was neither risk management nor insurance. After high school, he entered into the field of emergency medical services and joined a provider that moved through a series of acquisitions and was eventually acquired by American Medical Response. During his 19 year emergency services career, Larry progressed through most of the available management positions including Ambulance/Rescue Operations, Communications, Training; he established the Human Resources department, and was involved in Special Projects Planning. The transition to risk management occurred when Larry was asked to read through a two foot stack of loss runs in an attempt to bring the Workers Comp premium down; he never looked back. A move into the restaurant/hospitality industry came next when Larry was selected as Director of Risk Management for Roadhouse Grill, Inc. This was his most recent position prior to Amerijet. A holistic risk manager, Larry is a staunch proponent of the risk management profession, and has been a member of the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Broward County Chapter in South Florida since 1991. Within that chapter, Larry has served in several Officer/Board positions, including President more than once, and has participated in programs on the international Society level. Always encouraging the many networking and educational opportunities available to risk professionals, Larry continues his strong support of RIMS and the international values that the Society promotes.
